The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) sponsors regional and national Chem-E Car competitions where College students design and build a chemically powered vehicle that is able to safely travel a specified distance and stop

We are a multidisciplinary team. AIChE is a professional organization of chemical engineers, but our club values the strengths and talents of other engineering disciplines. By working together and allowing others to contribute time and skill, we can accomplish a more complex and sophisticated design. We know that our best chance of producing a winning car is through hard work and collaboration.

AiChe Regional Competition @UCSD

We are thrilled to announce our 2nd place win in the Research Poster category at the UCSD AIChE Regional ChemE Car Competition. Our innovative project focused on a chemically powered car utilizing Thermoelectric Generators (TEGs) with a 100°C temperature differential. Through meticulous experimentation, we harnessed the Seebeck effect to efficiently generate electricity from heat differentials, propelling the car forward. This achievement highlights the potential of TEGs in sustainable transportation and underscores our commitment to renewable energy solutions. We extend our gratitude to mentors and team members for their dedication and support in this journey.
